About the Club

The Potters' Club is a co-op for the ceramic arts that provides a quality pottery studio to amateurs at reasonable cost. The studio has recently moved to 900 S. Race St., Urbana at the intersection of Race St. and Washington St. Our studio faces Race.

Membership benefits include studio access, use of club materials and equipment, and interaction with other potters. Fees are kept to a minimum through the use of members' labor to maintain the studio and the club holds an annual sale at the Taste of Champaign. This is the club's primary fund-raising event and money raised from the sale is used to purchase and maintain club equipment.

Resources that are available to members include three stoneware clays and a variety of glazes, slips, underglazes, and overglazes. The club owns electric and kick wheels, a slab roller, an extruder, an electric kiln, a pug mill, and an assortment of hand tools. The club also owns a propane-fired raku kiln and periodically holds raku firings.

Members will have 24 hour access to the studio.

Please see Membership and Obligations, New Member Orientation, and Frequently Asked Questions for more information.
